On the R44, heading home into Stellenbosch, just after Welgevonden, at the intersection with Fir Road in Cloetseville, I was mugged by 3 males, 1 with a knife. They ran at me from the Cloetesville side, I saw them point at me which was when I braked hard and tried turning around, but wasn't able to get enough speed and didn't want to get stabbed from behind. So stopped, threw my bike to the ground and unfortunately (or fortunately) my phone fell out my jersey pocket. They ran off into Cloetesville. A kind passerby was hooting at them the whole time this happened. Case opened at Cloetesville SAPS. The Life360 app had the exact address of where my phone was. SAPS wasn't able to access the property and had to wait for Law Enforcement to come (over 30 minutes after I got to the station). Lucky to be uninjured, I guess.
