Video – World Championship dreams come true

By BikeHubCoreAdmin · 10 comments

A truly inspirational story of Theo Ngubane, who grabbed a once in a lifetime opportunity and charged forward to pursue his dream.

Thanks to Songo.info and Specialized, Theo was able to join a program where he could push himself on a bicycle and really gain some proper skills to eventually race. And race is what he did. First practicing around a BMX track near his home, he eventually upgraded to a Specialized Demo DH bike and became the first black South African to race at the UCI World Champs.

These pics were taken straight after his run in PMB! Kid was finished! That's Specialized's Bobby Behan with him.

so...those in the Dh game closer than me...who do we have coming up the ranks to take over the flame from mr Min (albeit a very big Flame)...both Potty and Needles are there and thereabouts but not near the same class. The impact that greg has had on cycling in South Africa is pretty big...well definitely in Pmb and surrounds anyway...we now need another star to come up the ranks

Great to see some nice young talent coming through. Now we just need to develop him correctly and provide the proper support and opportunities.

Was practising a few weeks before Masters and Worlds and watched him working his way up to hitting Dr Evil at Cascades. The look on his face the first time he did it was priceless!

Well done son!
