Video: 2016 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR announced

By Press Office · 26 comments

Mountain biking has come a long way since the Stumpjumper FSR first debuted in 1981, but one thing’s stayed the same for decades: The Stumpjumper FSR is the ultimate trail bike.

And this year, it features revolutionary new technology, like our proprietary Rx Trail shock tune, never before seen, fully integrated SWAT technology, 650b, 6Fattie, and 29er options, ultra-short and nimble chainstays, and an even slacker, trail-eating geometry. Add it all up, and you have a bike that’s ready for anything that the trail can throw at it.

Not sure they can keep hanging the "Stumpjumper FSR" label on it... I mean the bike is miles, miles different from the original. Give it a new name?

There is nothing wrong with evolving a brand name. Many brands have evolved over decades:

- Hilux, Corolla

- BMW 3, 5, 7 series

- Carte Blanche (the TV show)

- the Cape Epic

- even thehub has evolved
