Today, Trek Bicycle released its all-new Aeolus saddles, now featuring AirLoom lattice technology. Already trusted by top riders on Lidl-Trek and Trek Factory Racing, the new Aeolus offers comfort-driven performance tuned for riders chasing podiums, PRs, and peak efficiency. With multiple fit and construction options, the Aeolus lineup helps every rider find the right saddle — no matter their anatomy or budget.

The key to the new saddle line’s comfort is Trek’s AirLoom technology — a 3D-printed matrix that delivers strategic support under the sit bones and more flexibility under soft tissue, giving riders the support they need exactly where they need it. AirLoom moves with the rider to reduce friction, relieve pressure, and eliminate the need for a foam cover, which can contribute to saddle sores.

Trek Factory Racing Cross-Country Athlete, Riley Amos, says of his Trek Aeolus RSL AirLoom Saddle:
“… it’s by far the most comfortable saddle I’ve ever ridden.”
Why lattice saddles?
Traditional foam saddles compress unevenly, spreading pressure and restricting movement. Aeolus with AirLoom forgoes foam for an open-cell lattice structure that compresses independently to support every part of the rider’s anatomy. That means no more soft tissue pain or pressure hotspots — just smooth, efficient movement with every pedal stroke.

Trek Driftless athlete, Haley Hunter-Smith, who’s ridden the saddle across 200 miles at Unbound Gravel and eight days of racing at Cape Epic put it simply:
“No saddle sores, no more sit bone pain, and probably most importantly, no more soft tissue pain.”
New race-tested shape
In addition to AirLoom, Aeolus saddles now feature an updated shape refined by pro feedback and pressure mapping technology. Trek made the nose narrower, removed material from the transition zone, and lengthened the sloped area at the top of the saddle to minimize thigh rub and support riders in an aerodynamic race posture.

Aeolus lineup and sizing
Trek’s Aeolus saddle lineup offers a high-performance fit for every rider and budget.
Aeolus RSL AirLoom features full carbon rails and shell and tips the scale at just 164g (145mm width). It’s available in 135, 145, and 155mm widths.
Aeolus Pro AirLoom balances pro performance and price with full carbon rails and a carbon-composite shell that come together with lattice technology to weigh just 170g (145mm width). It’s available in 145 and 155mm widths.
For increased comfort, Aeolus Elite AirLoom adds more lattice padding over a nylon-composite shell with austenite rails and brings the lattice saddle price point down to a cost that’s attractive to more riders. Riders can choose from a 135, 145, or 155mm width.
Riders wanting the updated Aeolus profile without AirLoom lattice will find the perfect fit with Aeolus Elite Foam, available in 145 and 155mm widths.
