Stage one of the Momentum Health Cape Pioneer Trek, presented by Biogen took riders on a 96 kilometre loop from the seaside town of Mossel Bay inland to Gondwana Game Reserve. The front-runners set a blistering pace with Alan Hatherly and Matt Beers (Team Spur/Red-E) and Ariane Lüthi and Amy-Beth McDougall (Team Spur/Valencia) taking the stage wins and putting on the yellow and pink jerseys respectively.
