Pity there is no Duathlon option.

I grew up on a farm in the 80's, due the severe drought we never saw water deeper than ankle deep, so never learned to swim

Only done 1 tri - this one, and definitely doing it again!

Can't wait.

I love this event, but just went to enter... R600 + R80 for a day license

What a pity :(

Oi vey! Never noticed that, it is a bit XTreme. Could do a 2 day Magalies Adventure with 2 x lunches and beer at that price.

might give it a skip then.

what is BS is the fact that you pay R20 (+ R400) for a TSA day license for the lite and R80 for a day license for the full.

Seriously?

*edit* event info page says "R80" so maybe a glitch that you only have to pay R20 on the lite until fixed :P

I love to be able to eat more.

Is it silly season already?

This will be my first Xterra full really looking forward to it. What is a good time to aim for, I was thinking that 3h30 would be a pretty decent time.

This is a proper event - although pricey I believe it is well worth it.

Unbelievable administration, incredible mountain biking and torturous run...

The ride: http://www.strava.com/activities/109153241

530m elevation gain over 30km

The run: http://www.strava.com/activities/110980742

That climb is a proper killer. I walked it with my HR over 90%.

take it easy on the swim and ride, you'll need it for the run.

Just entered the Lite. No chance of being ready for the full at this point :w00t:

Lekker perks being a Fedhealth member too! A competition top, tri-top, free Spur burger + beer voucher, 20% discount on entry....

How tough is the ride on the full event. Had a sabbatical from riding in December and wondering if I'll manage?

It is a PROPER hard ride.

HTFU and do it.

You can always walk the run leg if needed!

BTW - I know someone looking for an entry but he cant do the full amount - can offer about R 400 if someone is looking to get out of theirs.

Entered..will be hard but can't wait

One of the hardest 3 hours and some you can do!

Entry is getting very expensive...right now I think it is borderline ok still but only because I love that race and we do always get some good goodie bags and it is well organized.

Nope, doubt it will be wetsuit legal. Got this from stillwater sports earlier:

Important Swim Information

The dam temperature is over 22 degrees celcius, which means that at this stage, no wetsuits will be permitted. If this changes, we will notify you.

Ya thought as much... last year there were no wetsuits either. Just hoping for any help I can get

Nevertheless looking forward to this - excellent event
