The New Skyrim – Titan Racing’s biggest, meanest, and raddest bike reborn

By Press Office · 55 comments

Titan Racing has announced the addition of a new trail bike, the Skyrim to their growing line-up. The new Skyrim and Skyrim ST were made to party on the trails, from getting sideways on your favourite jump trail to pedalling your lungs out in the mountains.

The all-new Skyrim will come in two variants – the Skyrim, built around 140mm rear travel and 150mm fork, and the Skyrim ST (Short Travel) version built around 130mm rear travel paired with a 140mm fork. Updated to progressive trail geometry and 29” wheels front and rear, the newly launched Titan Racing Skyrim and Skyrim ST offers the perfect all-day trail manners. The vital numbers are 65.5 head angle, 76.5 seat angle, 446mm rear stays, and a reach of 476mm on a size large. (Numbers quoted are for the Skyrim model)

The rear suspension has been updated to a Four-Bar Horst Link. A four-bar platform allows the suspension to operate mostly independently of braking, and it allows designers the most control over leverage ratios. We have put this to good use and have managed to design and build a trail bike that is easy to tune and set up, and offers excellent traction and grip out on the trails.

The suspension design and the bike’s geometry work seamlessly together to offer a ride that is engaging, controlled, and fun at all speeds. While more travel might be tempting, if you’re looking for something for nearly anyone’s local trails, then Skyrim could be your perfect bike.

A bike your mechanic will love

The recently launched Titan Racing Cerberus trail hardtail was their first new bike incorporating SRAM UDH hanger standard, and as with all future bikes, the new Skyrim and Skyrim ST have been designed around this standard. For those not yet familiar with it, SRAM UDH is designed to unify derailleur hanger standards and make use of the new T-Type transmission drivetrains that SRAM launched late last year.

The internal routing has been carefully crafted to ensure the best possible route and transition from the front triangle to the rear triangle. Titan Racing has spent a great deal of time ensuring the routing is visually clean and neat, as well as rattle-free.

Improvements made with you and your mechanic in mind:

  • Utility Mount Under the Top Tube for additional storage
  • Additional water bottle mounts for greater flexibility
  • Clearance for 2.6” tires (Brand and model dependant)
  • ISCG05 Chain Guide Mounts
  • SRAM UDH Hanger Standard
  • BSA Threaded Bottom Bracket
  • Tubeless Ready Rims and Tires across the range
  • Progressive Trail Geometry

We wanted a versatile bike that would be super fun to ride on any of the diverse types of trail we have in SA – except maybe DH-specific tracks accessed via uplift shuttle. Whether you are bombing down Armageddon in Jonkers, threading through some of the tight stuff in Karkloof, or cruising along the Spruit, the bike needs to feel at home on all of them. We settled on 130mm and 140mm of rear wheel travel by taking advantage of stroke adjust shocks and designed a kinematic with a fairly progressive leverage ratio and above-average anti-squat. To simplify production we configured this around a rocker-driven four-bar linkage with a horst link, which also allowed us to keep things relatively light, for an aluminium frame.

We designed a unique forged BB-main pivot shell that allows for super clean cable routing with no messy cable transitions around the BB area and included a utility mount under the TT, as adding in-frame storage would increase both the cost and the weight of the bike to unacceptable levels. The frame has clearance for piggyback shocks and a full-size water bottle which you need for the longer days spent in the saddle.

Awesome looking bike! The colours remind me of the blue and orange Giant Trances from a few years back that I really took a liking to. Hopefully some trail ebikes in from you guys in the future and you might have a customer in me ;) keep it up!

Very nice. Can see a little bit of another SA brand in the design and geometry, but that is not a bad thing

Possibly because the designer worked for another SA brand at a point, but whether or not that had an influence is academic I suppose.
Reminds me of the motor industry where you could almost figure out if a designer/s had moved elsewhere based on some of the lines etc....

As a happy owner of the original Titan Skyrim, this looks like a great upgrade. #tradein?

Nice, clean looking machine, also nice to see a bit more of a restrained, minimal approach to the branding on the bike. It says Titan Racing now, not TITAN RACING HELL YEAH!!!!!!! Nice.

Big fan of Titan bikes and the reasonable prices on offer. Thinking of their hardtail converting it to a gravel bike due to great pricing. Do wish the welds were generally a little smoother though. At least the junction between seat tube and top tube is super flush unlike my Trek Fuel EX where the welding is hideous.

Really nice looking bike, but I would prefer to have mechanical GX and Code RSC brakes on the Elite model, and maybe a 200mm rotor up front, doing that they could even drop the price a little, brakes and suspension are far more important than drivetrain on this kind of bike, in my opinion atleast

Like those who dont know that sram transmission (shifting) is basically linkglide but in AXS format 😅. Still they’ll want GX mechanical though because marketing. Im with @BaGearA, my next groupo on my big bike will be xt linkglide (if i can find some ofcourse)
