Three hundred and sixty degree circle route over nearly 361 km within 36.1 hours, one continuous test of endurance through the mountains and dust of the Klein Karoo. For those lucky enough to have secured a spot, the suffering is about to begin. For the rest of us — it’s time to watch greatness unfold.

Here’s What’s New for 2025
Live Rider Tracking
For friends, family, and fans, the excitement doesn’t stop at the start line. Follow the action in real time with our live tracking link, available on the36one.co.za. Stay on top of pacing, positions, and progress as the race unfolds across the Karoo.
New Calitzdorp Checkpoint Location
Riders will now refuel at the Old Station in Calitzdorp, a new checkpoint location that offers hot meals and a morale boost before the final push to the finish.
R36,100 Prize Money Up for Grabs
This year, we’re raising the stakes with a bold incentive, R36,100 cash prize for any solo rider who can beat the current course record in the Full Challenge!
The current record holders are:
- Drikus Coetzee (Namibia) – Men’s Record: 13:17:50 (2022)
- Yolande de Villiers (South Africa) – Women’s Record: 15:11:22 (2021)
To claim the R36,100 prize, solo riders will need to beat these target times:
- Solo Men: Under 13 hours
- Solo Women: Under 15 hours
Crack the time barrier, and you’ll not only walk away with the cash — but also earn a spot in The 36ONE history books.
Finish Line Perks That Hit the Spot
Riders will be welcomed over the line with a FREE, freshly grilled Weber burger, served hot and hearty — a well-deserved reward after hours in the saddle. A personal finish line photo will also be taken of every rider and sent to them after the event. Proof of pain. Evidence of pride.
