SRAM launch new RED AXS

SRAM have introduced a new iteration of the RED AXS wireless road groupset. Their lightest electronic groupset to date, it offers one-finger braking with improved adjustability, as well as faster, quieter front and rear derailleurs with more efficient shifting. In addition, the Hammerhead Karoo cycling computer integrates seamlessly with the system. Get all the details in the press release below:

HRD Shift-Brake System

True one-finger braking is at hand. We’ve overhauled our hood and lever architecture and achieved breakthroughs for fit across all hand sizes and easy access to powerful and smooth, easy braking from anywhere on the bar. Independent reach and contact point adjustment allow for highly personalized setup, with no risk of pinching your fingers or bottoming out on the bar no matter your settings. Better finger wrap on the hood means less fatigue on long days, and Bonus Buttons lets you shift or control ANT+ devices with your thumbs. The caliper is not only stiffer, but lighter too, with phenomenal pad clearance for rub-free operation. All that and we still managed to remove 83 g from the pair.

The SRAM power meter is accurate to +/-1.5% and isn’t affected by temperature changes, and the consistent 13-tooth gap on the rings ensures fast and reliable shifting. Our integrated rings are also incredibly long-lasting. Plus we’re offering more crankarm lengths than ever before to ensure this crank works for you.

Wide range and tight jumps? Why not both? Our lightest, most durable cassette breaks new ground for gearing choices as well. Four distinct cassette options, including our first 10-30T and 10-36T RED cassettes, each provide secure shift ramps specifically designed for electronic shifting, whether racing road on a 10-28T or creating an all-road setup with a 10-36T. Carefully chosen tooth jumps keep the rider in the right gear when you’re out of the saddle on steep climbs and making fine changes to hold a wheel while approaching a sprint.

We took the lightest and most durable chain we’ve ever made and made it lighter. With no compromises. Our HollowPin construction is lighter and stronger than a solid pin, and cutouts in the outer and inner plates drop 13 g from the previous generation. This results in a lighter, faster, stronger and more durable chain.
