For every bike, there’s a rider. A rider who builds it. A rider who knows it. A rider who’s always ready to take the bike somewhere new. Engineered in Germany with 1x and 2x options, SRAM GX brings the power of riding to everyone, everywhere.

SRAM GX 1×11

tooth’s thickness is CNC machined to work seamlessly with the chain’s inner and outer
links. And with five available chainrings (30-32-34-36-38), you can personalize your
gear range to match the way you ride.

Where in the range does this fit? There is already a budget 1 x 11 SRAM option, the X1.

Is it.

You should be able to use a 11spd RD & Shifter with your 10spd Cass. Will have to adjust your limit screw a bit.

Won't work. Different actuation ratio.

That's not what he's talking about tho. Would have been great to see the x sync tech come to 10sp as well

I know it's not what he's talking about, but it's a make shift second choice.

It will work, if you are referring to the actuation ratio of shifter to derailleur they both 11spd. If you run a 11spd shifer and 11spd Derailleur with a 10spd Cassette. A 11spd Derailleur with a 10spd shifter and Cassette won't work.

If you reuse your current 1x converted crank/chainring (apparently the 11sp chain will work on any 10sp compatible chainring), for around R5k you can be doing 1x11 properly, new 1x11 RD, Cass, Shifter and Chain, all for about the price of just the XX1 cass.

yep, i know that. but you can't remove the 11sp price premium by adjusting the limit screw a little bit.

The X01 DH 10 speed RD comes in a medium cage, should work in a 1 x 10 in the same way a Zee medium cage works. There is also a X01 DH 1x10 trigger shifter:

I hope this isn't going to be a low qualith product. I still can't understand how a 1x11 system is more expensive than 2x10 anyway. The fact that X1 drive train only is more expensive than xt drive train plus brakes is absolutely ridiculous.

local pricing is actually on par with international. So no. Should be very close to that as it is suggested retail price.

I am due for a new cassette and chain. Currently will probably go the X01 route for those replacements. Wonder what the quality diff would be between the GX cassette and X01 cassette. Def not forking out that money for the XX1 chain and cassette
