Oakley launches Mark Cavendish Jawbreaker sunglasses

By Press Office · 13 comments

The idea of Jawbreaker was inspired by professional cyclist, Mark Cavendish. Whether it’s measuring his own wattage output, pinpointing his drag coefficiency in a state-of-the-art wind tunnel, or adjusting his seat position by a fraction of a millimeter, he leaves nothing to chance in his preparation. This obsession led to a unique collaboration with Oakley. His challenge was to design an “armor for speed.” And after more than 100 design iterations, 9,600 hours of lab and field testing, 27 eyewear components and two years in the making, Jawbreaker™ is born.

Let's hope they release the photochromic lenses soon.

No matter how much I like them I would never buy a pair.

That is mostly because Cavendish is an asshat.

So Bike Snob is a dick, Cav is an asshat - you have a way with words, don't you?

I like the look of these. It's like a radarlock had a child with a racing jacket and this is the kid that was left on frogskins' doorstep.

However, the rim has always been a problem with the jawbones - ventilation wise, and more vitally, peripheral vision.

But they look cool.

I most surely do.

Bike snob has some redeeming qualities though, Cav has none.

He cries every time he loses and I feel my gag reflex kick in on every interview they do on him.

Still those two people are two in a very small list of cyclists that I dont like.

I like them, my photo chromatic Radarlocks are still my faves though. Visibility when looking over one's shoulder isn't obscured by the frame, unlike like my Racing Jackets.
