By Press Office · 75 comments

We’re looking for you to nominate your favourite Strava segments to be featured in our Contego Segment Hunter video series. If your segment is chosen you could win a Cadence Nutrition hamper valued at R2,620.

Each Contego Segment Hunter episode will feature a different type of segment, be it a technical mountain bike descent, a lung busting road climb or even a combination of the both.

How does it work?

  1. Nominate one or more of your favourite Strava segments in the relevant categories in the form below.

The Contego Segment Hunter team will select the segments best suited to the series. Should one of your segment nominations be selected, you will stand a chance to win a Cadence Nutrition hamper worth R2,620.

Note: Due to constraints, nominations are limited to segments within a couple hours drive from Cape Town.

Grand Prize: Contego Unit Trust worth R30,000

At the end of the series, Contego are giving away R30,000 worth of unit trusts. All you have to do is ride your bike!

How to enter:

  1. Join the Contego Segment Hunter Strava club and record your segment rides on Strava.
  2. Get out and ride! After each segment is announced go and ride it. Please ride safely though, there is no prize for being the fastest.

For each Contego Segment Hunter segment you ride, you will be entered into the draw to win. So if you ride all six segments during the series, you will receive six entries.

Episode 1 features the segment “Bloemslang – Just the drop” at Bloemendal. Watch the preview and find out more here.

Not more than two hours drive. Preference will be given to closer segments though.

When does this end

The submissions will be ongoing as we proceed through the series. You may submit as many segments as you like. However, should you want all your segments consider, I'd recommend getting your entry in before Tuesday next week.

Cobra and cobra down & up. A trail that you have to know what you're doing in order to have a good time on. Very easy to get bogged down

I would nominate Conters full loop -

Dairy Shed all the way up to mast and then back down via the Black and Blue and Cheeky Corners (or Kloof) back to Dairy Shed.

But I couldn't be bothered with Energy supplements, etc so someone else is welcome to use my suggestion.

Hi Snailtrail021

We've got six Contego Segment Hunter episodes planned. Once the last episode is released, we'll set a deadline to have ridden the segments in the series. To give you an idea, we're currently filming the second episode and scouting segments for the rest. So you have at least two or three months to get out and ride the segment.

Also remember to join our Strava club to go into the competition. You can join the club here: https://www.strava.com/clubs/segmenthunter

For each Contego Segment Hunter segment you ride, you get one entry into the final draw.

You can still submit segments should you want your favourite segments to be considered.

G-Spot...although this might be pretty confusing as there are many variations listed. this one has the most attempts...and we really should get ralp naef off the podium!

Thing is that the new additions in G Spot won't make it possible to knock him off. Lots of rollers and other features put in at the fastest section (just after the road gap) and a few more obstacles in place. It's almost a different trail. Remember riding it a while back and wondering HTF all those "new things" got there, when I was used to a sorta freeway on the way to the koppie. Now you have to be aware of it or you're gonna be riding a bucking bronco if you take the same approach.
