Nominate and win with Contego Segment Hunter and Cadence Nutrition

By Press Office · 75 comments

We’re looking for you to nominate your favourite Strava segments to be featured in our Contego Segment Hunter video series. If your segment is chosen you could win a Cadence Nutrition hamper valued at R2,620.

Each Contego Segment Hunter episode will feature a different type of segment, be it a technical mountain bike descent, a lung busting road climb or even a combination of the both.

How does it work?

  1. Nominate one or more of your favourite Strava segments in the relevant categories in the form below.

The Contego Segment Hunter team will select the segments best suited to the series. Should one of your segment nominations be selected, you will stand a chance to win a Cadence Nutrition hamper worth R2,620.

Note: Due to constraints, nominations are limited to segments within a couple hours drive from Cape Town.

Grand Prize: Contego Unit Trust worth R30,000

At the end of the series, Contego are giving away R30,000 worth of unit trusts. All you have to do is ride your bike!

How to enter:

  1. Join the Contego Segment Hunter Strava club and record your segment rides on Strava.
  2. Get out and ride! After each segment is announced go and ride it. Please ride safely though, there is no prize for being the fastest.

For each Contego Segment Hunter segment you ride, you will be entered into the draw to win. So if you ride all six segments during the series, you will receive six entries.

Episode 1 features the segment “Bloemslang – Just the drop” at Bloemendal. Watch the preview and find out more here.

I think "Die Muishond" should be recruited for these segments. Seems like all his best times are part of long rides. Imagine if he was only doing those segments.

Tried to chase ouberg down in December, only to cut the tire ISM. Had to patch patch patch back up wasn't going to risk it.

This is the most aptly named segment I've ever seen. If you've ridden it you'll understand.

I can't wait to go ride Oubergpass when I'm in that area one day.

But that's the point, he is clearly a mythical beast. Probably rides a Yeti. He's everywhere on Strava but noone knows who he his. #ordothey

Jonaskop would be very interesting one.

With right gears it might be doable on a road bike as it is 99% tar road.

I know "THE PINNER' has done it on a road bike, but did not come prepared with enough gears.

If you say that into a mirror, I might just appear.

Soooo, how long do we have to wait for Contego to decide on the first segment to tackle? :whistling:

While we wait let's listen to Montego Bay...

Hi Hubbers,

Thanks for the great segment nominations so far!

Please keep them coming. We'll be making a final call on Episode 1 early next week.

If you're not familiar with Strava or Segments all you have to do is name the piece of road or trail you think would make for an exciting challenge.

If you're on Strava just paste the segment link here and it should auto-embed.

Glad to see the interest.

We selected the segment for the first episode last week and did the filming for the segment introduction. All will be revealed very soon.

Hoogekraal - Cape Cobra DH is a must because it's technically tricky and challenging with enough spots to create a styling video!
