The Vattenfall Cyclassics is Germany’s only World Tour event and our African team will be part of the line-up once again, this after competing in the 2013 edition. The mostly flat 250km course has a few hills thrown in to soften up the legs but the general thought is the race will suite the sprinters. MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung have 2 previous winners of the German Classic, Edvald Boasson Hagen winning in 2011 while Tyler Farrar won in 2009 and 2010.

This year Edvald and Tyler return to Hamburg and will race alongside Gerald Ciolek, Andy Stauff, Theo Bos, Matt Goss, Reinardt Janse van Rensburg and Nic Dougall for Team MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung. With a number of fast men at our disposal the goal will certainly be to aim for the podium on Sunday.

Vattenfall is always an interesting race with it usually coming down to a fight between the late attacks in the hills and the sprinters teams trying to bring it back together. It is a race that suits our team well and we look forward to fighting for the the win here.
Reinardt Janse van Rensburg – Rider
Vattenfall is an important race for our team and another good opportunity to make our project visible in the World Tour again. We have a good team here that are capable of a top result so that will be our ambition.
Michel Cornelisse – Sport Director
