Paarl is more than just a pretty face. Other than its obvious charm and history, it has become a hub for trail seekers, cyclists, and outdoor enthusiasts. It has also been selected as the host town for the biggest outdoor bike expo this side of the country has seen.

Bike Fest Paarl will host a multitude of race disciplines for both e-bikers and well the analog riders. The weekend kicks off with the Optimum Short Track Schools Race. A 1.7km route with 82 meters of climbing open to riders 13+. Get your buddies and challenge your rival schools on a good old dirt shake down. This sort of fun at only R120/entry is unheard of!
Saturday morning sees the ultra-marathon (80km) and marathon (62km) riders take on the best of Paarl Trails, while the afternoon sees the enduro and enduro lite participants make their way to the top. If you are asking yourself “what is an enduro anyway?”, read on we’ll get to it.

On Sunday the half marathon (43km) and quarter marathon (26km) riders will take get to experience the hard work the team from Paarl Trails have put it to the area. Both challenges are open to analog and e-bikes. New this year is a ladies only start for the half marathon.

And if you are there just to be social, that’s fine too. The fest will also give one the opportunity to experience food vendors, tastings (gin and wine) and kids’ activities too. We’re also bringing in an absolutely Rad (pardon the pun) pump track.
