The Lesotho Sky has grown consistently every year and will now host 80 riders in the 2014 edition. It is quickly becoming popular so don’t miss out on what is likely to be your best ever MTB experience.

At the Lesotho Sky Event, cyclists will experience the magic of the Mountain Kingdom on two wheels. Lesotho is a country entirely surrounded by South Africa and those who have travelled here before remember Lesotho for its warm hospitality and breathtaking scenery.
The Sky team presents the 4th edition of the Lesotho Sky. It is a must-do for adventure junkies and riders who seek a unique experience. The race comprises of an average of 65km per day and over 6 days it leads riders through magnificent scenery, breathtaking mountains, picturesque valleys and remote villages of the Kingdom in the Sky. Lesotho has plenty of what many riders refer to as “best natural single track in the world” and the Lesotho Sky puts them to good use.

The latest addition to the race is the 24km Urban Time Trial course twisting through the streets, suburbs and finest trails of the capital Maseru on the 1st day. The Lesotho Sky is a UCI accredited race since 2013 and hosts both amateur and professional teams. It is a class 2 stage race and the winning riders will earn valuable 80 points each, which already count towards the 2015 season. Only 40 teams are going to partake in the Lesotho Sky 2014.
By participating in the event riders support cycling sport in Lesotho as well as community sport initiatives, like the Ha Ramoshabe Bicycle Club. Out of a total field of 40 teams there will be 7 teams from Lesotho. They train hard and qualify each year for this race. Their costs are fully sponsored and they are in it to improve stage-racing skills as well as to show their talent to the world.

The dates are 21st – 26th September 2014 (6 riding days).
Total riding distance: 344km. Total climbing 8660m.
Note: Only 10 team entries are left for the 2014 race.
