The time is now to enter and experience first-hand all the beauty and hospitality of this region and have a bit of fun too! You can sit back and relax after each day of cycling and braai a marshmallow with friends and family at the fire while strategising your plan to win the wheelbarrow race at the newly renovated AW Barn on Day 2! Local caterers put their best foot forward to ensure you have delicious meals to keep you fuelled for your Karoo adventure!

The first day kicks off with registration and a 20km night ride. The stars seem almost at arms reach as they unfold with the sunset at the start of your 20km adventure into the Karoo.

Day two starts with a cup of moer coffee and a locally made rusk that serves as a pre-breakfast to breakfast served straight after to fuel you for the day ahead of 73km, which is not for the faint-hearted. The reward, however, is breathtaking views as you gingerly cycle through neighbouring farms with a wide array of sometimes shy wildlife en route towards a special waterpoint stop at Twiskraal Farm hosted underneath their enormous sheering shed. Yummy treats, sugary cola and bubbly staff will set you right for the journey ahead. After crossing the finish line, a hot shower and a cold beer will recharge you for a short walk to the newly renovated AW Barn. A live band will liven the mood, and the fun and strangely competitive Wheelbarrow race will commence during the intermission.

The final day is a short and sweet summary of the event with 48km unfolding breathtaking views of Renosterberg as you head towards the old Dwarsvlei Train station for a much-deserved java addicts dream, cappuccino waterpoint. Gemsbuck and Kudu are known to roam this area, but they are shy, and a lucky few will spot them on occasion. The route takes you back home past the AW Barn, dated 1890, to conclude your journey.

The entry includes most of what you will need. Apart from 3 days of fantastic cycling in the Karoo, you can expect the following:

FREE COFFEE EACH MORNING: You can look forward to a freshly brewed cup of condensed milk and moer coffee with a locally made rusk before and during breakfast. Atlantic Coffee will serve a welcoming free cappuccino on Day 3’s waterpoint stop at Dwarsvlei train station.

UNIQUE MERCHANDISE KIT: All entrants receive a Kakiebos merchandise kit, and Early Bird entrants also receive a Karoo-inspired design Cycling Jersey. *Offer valid for the first 200 entries!

LIVE ENTERTAINMENT: Sit back, relax, and enjoy live entertainment on Days 2 & 3 of Ride The Karoo 3-Day Stagerace.

EN ROUTE: Staffed water points serving everything from water to koeksisters! Backup vehicle to assist should you not be able to ride any further.

COMPLIMENTARY TENTED ACCOMMODATION: Each entry includes a spacious Standard Canvas tent and a comfy mattress for three nights. Upgraded accommodation is available.

HANDMADE KAROO MEDAL: Each medal is handmade by Auntie Koekie and her family, a local artist from Middelburg Karoo. They have proudly been making the medals for over a decade.

LOADS OF ABLUTION FACILITIES: Enjoy piping hot showers in multiple permanent and temporary ablution units at Dwarsvlei. Water in the Karoo is scarce and difficult to extract. We urge you to please use water sparingly.

TIMING BY MOBII: All riders will receive a timing chip to track their time for the three stages. There is no cutoff time.
