By Matt · 299 comments

Are you up for a challenge? Isuzu Trucks are giving away four team entries for the Isuzu Trucks PE Plett MTB Race, taking place 3 – 6 September 2015.

The Isuzu Trucks Endurance Challenge kicked off today (20 April 2015) and over the next four weeks you’ll be faced with a series of Strava-based challenges. If you complete them all you’ll go into the draw to win one of the four team entries plus R 5000 towards your travel.

Here’s how it works:

1) Sign up for the Challenge using your Strava account

2) All your rides logged on Strava between 20 April 2015 and 17 May 2015 will be imported, analysed and badges awarded when you reach the targets set out for each.

Are you up for the Challenge?

Here is a look at what lies ahead:

Overall badges

These badges apply to the full competition duration and any qualifying rides logged over that period count towards them.

Questions?

1. Will my indoor trainer / stationary bike sessions or manually logged rides count?

No, only rides tracked by a GPS device will be considered.

2. What if I sign up late?

You can sign up at any point in the competition. Any existing rides on Strava which fall within the competition period will be imported regardless of when you sign up.

Will it be possible to show the number of people taking part?

There are 289 sign ups so far, climbing each day.

And maybe list the amount of badges earned thus far or contestants as per list above?

In total 1303 badges have been awarded (out of a possible 4046 - 32%), some even have all 14 badges already (all Joberg2c riders).

Here's a breakdown of the top spots:

14 badges - 4 participants

13 badges - 1 participant

12 badges - 2 participants

11 badges - 9 participants

10 badges - 9 participants

Did not think it would be possible for anyone to get this done in two weeks.

But if doing multi stage race , I can understand it.

At least no one achieved all the badges in the first day, as some of  challenges ran on strava.

If it wasn't for the timing of events like Joberg2c and Trans Karoo, it would have taken a bit longer I'd think (at least another week).

The idea is that it should be challenging, but still possible to do with training alone.

I'll post some stats updates shortly.

I agree with you on that, had to do a few hill repeats on Sunday to make up those final few hundred meters

4 to go, my challenge was made a bit more challenging when my light broke last wednesday and the fact that I need to travel for work this week, confining me to IDT, but should not stop me from achieving 2 more this week and last two next week. At least then i would have done my part. Must say did 2300 m ascend within 6 hours in Pta . In Bloemfontein it would have been a challenge.

Yes, you can sign up at any point. All rides on Strava from 20 April - 17 May (and not private or on an indoor trainer) will count.
