By Matt · 299 comments

Are you up for a challenge? Isuzu Trucks are giving away four team entries for the Isuzu Trucks PE Plett MTB Race, taking place 3 – 6 September 2015.

The Isuzu Trucks Endurance Challenge kicked off today (20 April 2015) and over the next four weeks you’ll be faced with a series of Strava-based challenges. If you complete them all you’ll go into the draw to win one of the four team entries plus R 5000 towards your travel.

Here’s how it works:

1) Sign up for the Challenge using your Strava account

2) All your rides logged on Strava between 20 April 2015 and 17 May 2015 will be imported, analysed and badges awarded when you reach the targets set out for each.

Are you up for the Challenge?

Here is a look at what lies ahead:

Questions?

1. Will my indoor trainer / stationary bike sessions or manually logged rides count?

No, only rides tracked by a GPS device will be considered.

2. What if I sign up late?

You can sign up at any point in the competition. Any existing rides on Strava which fall within the competition period will be imported regardless of when you sign up.

The wife is not impressed that I'm on my phone so much on a Friday evening. And it's all for one reason only.

It's not looking good for us.

We haven't received an email so don't think we have won.

I'm just hoping they haven't done the draw yet.

I'm guessing the emails have gone out and the winners have 72hrs to redpond. Only once the winners have confirmed, in case a redraw is necessary, will they announce the winners formerly. I hope I'm wrong though.

In that case, I'm planning the cycling equivalent of banging my head against a wall: ride up the back of Malanshoogte 30 times on Saturday morning...

Actually it's a scouting/training ride for an Everesting attempt later this year. And on cue Strava has a new climbing challenge: http://www.strava.com/challenges/climb-for-nepal

Maybe it will ease the pain :-)

So of everyone who has maybe been emailed not a single one can just tell us here that they received an email?

I think it is more likely that they have not done the draw yet...

Well, they might not be on here since it was on Strava...or don't check their mail (or this thread) as religiously as some of us do...

Yeh, sure :) But they should know someone who knows someone who is here... since it was marketted from here (it was not marketted via strava, otherwise youd have had 1000s of overseas people signing up).

Anyway - this is all just conversation to while away the time!

Enjoy your weekend! Go play outside!

Matt said that he'd post the names as soon as he had them. So I'm guessing that the draw hasn't happened yet.

My friend received a confirmation email on Tuesday. He had to respond with in the 72 hours, so maybe some people haven't responded and that's what the delay is.

How can he receive an email on Tuesday if the draw was Friday?

Tuesday + 72 hours = Friday

Maybe the announcement was supposed to be Friday, not the draw.
