Cape Town Cycle Tour: Road closures for 7 – 8 March 2015

By Nick · 0 comments

The 38th Cape Town Cycle Tour will see cyclists line up on Sunday, 8 March 2015 to participate in the 47km #Showyoucaresolidarityride – a circular route from its normal start at the Civic Centre to the end of the M3 and back the same way to a slightly altered finish in Green Point.

The Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust, organisers of the annual event, urges all participants and spectators to make use of the available public transport options to avoid delays. Parking at the start and finish areas, as well as access to various parts of the route, is extremely limited over event weekend.

Operations Director of the Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust, Renée Jordaan, says: “We encourage all individuals to make use of the available Metrorail and MyCiti public transport facilities on Cycle Tour Race Day, so that cyclists and their bikes can get to the starting line safely and on time.”

Riders are encouraged to visit the Metrorail website at www.metrorail.co.za and the MyCiTi website at www.myciti.org.za for details on the available public transport options and schedules for this year’s Cape Town Cycle Tour.

ROAD CLOSURES

All residents in the areas affected by road closures are urged to make use of alternative side streets and designated parking areas on event weekend. The Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust appeals to all residents in Green Point not to park along the Main Road on Race Day.

The following road closures will be in effect over the event weekend and are a guideline to assist residents and visitors when planning their routes:
