About the event
Welcome to the Lesotho Sky Event, your gateway to Africa's Mountain Kingdom and an annual must-attend for adventurers seeking mountain biking thrills off the beaten track. Since its inception in 2011 as a 6-day UCI stage race, this event has evolved significantly. Celebrating over a decade of adventure, we've shifted to a more intimate 3-day, non-competitive MTB ride format, designed to offer an unparalleled riding experience while reducing environmental impact and enhancing community engagement.
· DATES: October 10-12, 2024
· TOTAL DISTANCE: 180km over 3 stages
· ELEVATION GAIN: +/- 4000m
· BASE CAMP: Malealea Lodge, nestled in the Maloti Mountains
The new 3-day format features a cloverleaf route design starting from a single base camp - making navigation a breeze with provided GPS tracks. Each stage offers unique challenges and spectacular views, with distances up to 60km per day. Riders can expect well-maintained trails and superb support including water points, mechanical assistance, and optional sports massage services.
E-Bike Friendly
Bring your E-Bike, but make sure it’s full suspension! The technical terrains of Lesotho demand expertise in navigating steep and narrow single tracks. Note: This is an advanced ride, not suitable for beginners.
Family-Friendly Atmosphere
There’s plenty of room for supporters and family, making this an excellent opportunity for a getaway. If you’ve never visited Lesotho, this event promises not just a ride, but an exploration of the heart of Southern Africa.
Don’t miss this chance to be part of the Lesotho Sky experience. Whether it’s your first visit or a return journey, we believe it won’t be your last. Register now or visit our website for more insider tips and detailed information.
