About the event
Established 13 years ago, this race beat the "Gravel Grinding Trend". Previously a point-to-point route, the Berg 100 now has a revised circular route, starting and finishing in Nottingham Road, KZN. Making logistics for the rider so much easier, but still keeping the much-loved vibe and awesome route feel as previously. 2026 will take in the splendour of the region and the "adventure ride" feel our event is known for.
This is essentially an MTB race, but is suitable for gravel and e-bikes as well.
The 100km Berg Long route, is for those wanting to PUSH themselves and achieve this mighty distance! The challenges are in the 2000 meters of climbing and the distance.
The 67km Berg Lite route, is designed for those wanting a challenge and wanting to push themselves from a 40/50km ride to a 60/70km ride. It is also for those who might need to downgrade from the 100km!!!!!
These routes feature sublime views of the Drakensberg while you navigate through the mountains and valleys of the region.
