About the event
MONTAGU has it all in terms of outdoor activities, the gateway to the Klein Karoo and also it is here where the Klein Karoo Gravel Corridor starts. This makes Montagu the heartbeat of outdoor adventures.
Makadas Adventures in cooperation with MATA & Glen Eden Guest Farm brings you a fun filled weekend in the great outdoors. Gravel cycling, Mountain biking, Sunset Hike and Trail Running are some of the activities of the weekend.
Montagu 100 Miler 8 November 2025
There are this year THREE distances to choose from:
138 km Gravel Race
106 km MTB Race
67 km Fun ride
Putting this route together has had many challenges but with help from landowners and a few seasonal gravel riders we managed to put something truly spectacular together. Makadas Adventures, MATA & Africa Game Lodge presents a route….. that is truly out of Africa. Magical, special, unique, and diverse are words that comes to mind.
2023 was the first year that certain sections of private land was opened to cyclists and only as a once-off for this event, it was such a hit that we got the privilege to use it once again in the 2025 event, this will only be for the 106 km route though.
PLEASE NOTE ROUTE CHANGE: the 106 km mtb route will be done in reverse this year, adding the spectacular Slagkloof as well as a new 19 km section down back to town. The 67 km route also has the new 19 km section going back to town.
138 km Gravel Route stays unchanged for 2025
Africa Game Lodge truly captures a bit of the essence of Africa.
There is enough time to train for this one, mark it on your calendar or better yet enter now. You do not want to be the one that misses out on this very special opportunity. On both the 138 km and the 106 km routes game such as: Giraffe, Gemsbok, Eland, Kudu, Zebra, and Springbok can be seen.
The 138 km route follows the same route as the 67 km route (just with an hour earlier start) via Joubertspass then Ouberg to the Braai Broodjie Water Station and doing a loop through Anysberg Nature Reserve.
