This bike was great for my 12-year-and was used while training with professionals. He advanced quickly and therefore required a bike with dual suspension for downhill racing and enduros needed for advanced trails.

Why learn on a hardtail?

"Riding a hardtail mountain bike allows a rider to develop more skill than riding a full-suspension bike. Without rear suspension, a rider then must need learn how to absorb impacts using their legs and body - to navigate obstacles and find the best line, which will ultimately make you a faster rider and improve your riding skills.

The Marlin 8 handles trails well and is suitable for everyday off-road riding. It's also easy to transport on bike racks.
