Your adventure starts with Avalanche

Paid partnership with Avalanche Bicycles

By Press Office · 12 comments

Avalanche is stepping into a new era, and we are inviting you along for the ride.

Thirty years ago, Avalanche Bicycles was founded with a spirit for adventure. Our mission has and will always be to develop affordable and reliable bicycles for South Africans of all ages and walks of life.

Avalanche’s new range is centred around three core principles:

CAPABILITY | AFFORDABILITY | ASPIRATION

Our bikes are more than just transportation; they are a fun way to explore, stay fit, and connect with others. The new Avalanche range features designs driven by affordable performance and attractive aesthetics. Whether you are hitting the trails, commuting through the city, teaching a child to ride, or enjoying a coastal e-bike cruise, there is an Avalanche bike for your style and budget.

More Capable Than Ever

With significant investment in Avalanche’s product team the new range is more capable than ever. We’ve upgraded materials and components throughout the range to ensure our bikes perform for all ages, across all surfaces.

Special attention has been given to frame designs and colours that combine to elevate Avalanche in the minds of riders.

Within Your Means

You might think improved performance and looks would mean higher prices, but not at Avalanche. We’ve redesigned our bikes and updated their components to keep them affordable without compromising on quality, resulting in a new range that looks great and performs even better, all while remaining within reach of budget minded riders.

Form and Function

Our range refresh focuses on both form and function: more visually appealing while offering better performance so that riders of all ages and abilities are excited and proud to get outdoors and explore aboard their Avalanche.

Our transformation comes from a detailed inward look, review and redesign process. Every part of our bikes, from the sleek frames to the reliable components, has been carefully chosen to improve the riding experience. We want our bikes to help seasoned riders go further and faster, while also being there for beginners who are finding their balance on two wheels.

With each ride, you’ll experience the reliability, performance, and durability that define Avalanche. Plus, our dedication to customer satisfaction and 5-year warranty means your journey with us will put you first.

We’re grateful for the support over the past three decades and we’re excited about the road ahead. Whether you’re an experienced rider or new to cycling, now is the perfect time to join the Avalanche family.

Your adventure starts with Avalanche.

Was my kids first MTB many many years ago - I stripped and rebuilt it as soon as i got it home - The thing was bullet proof - he rode the K#k out of it for many years and when he got too big for it i sold it for more than i paid for it - Great to see the brand back on the shelves

So proud to be part of the team behind the brand! We're having a load of fun with it and I believe it's showing through in the product(s) we've designed! Thanks for the support!

Its a great bike, especially at that price.
A friend has been using one for a few weeks and we are all very impressed - Green Belts, Mast and Block House were all handled with ease. 47mm tyres are a nice touch.

The rear mech does need a clutch though -  chain drop is a regular occurrence.

Looks like they did well to make a budget bike. Doing the basics right goes a long way. It will be heavy but as long as it performs.

Ja, I mean, it's not aimed at racers and BikeHub BikeSnobs (TM)...

It's an affordable option for 'normal' people, who ride bikes. I reckon it's a win

i just wish the entry level kids bikes can flip around those chain rings, small front and bigger at the back. it a shame to see them always having to struggle uphill when they are pushing gear ratios bigger than pogi on a tt bike.

My adventure started with an Avalanche Sirocco from Olympic Cycles, circa 1995.

They must have been a very new brand then, chro-mo all the way baby. hope the b@stard that stole it 4 years later got some fun out of it.
