Some of these are small, some of them huge, but all of them are surely on any mountain biker’s short list. How many have you done? What’s at the top of your list?

Ten out of ten for me. Did a ski season in whistler that dragged into spring. Riding in snow requires beeeg tyres if you actually want to enjoy it. Sorted myself with a touring set up and went north to the Yukon after a summer in Vancouver.
Suppose freedom challenge would tick the mountain range box. Don't quite understand the ride to the sea one,I live next to it so it's easy.
My #11 would be get a one way ticket and ride home.
#12 teach someone your Mtb skills
Nah you can't count that one, that is like us gautengers counting pwc bike park
PS there is just something about riding your mielie off for a few days to arrive on the beach...you can start smelling the sea from a couple of km's out. Do a joberg2c and see what the hype is about.

I think a visit to france could tick all three
- Ride in Another Country
- Bike Park
- Ride in the Snow(if you climb high enough surely there will some snow even if its just a meter or so)
Oh and Jcmeyer...please correct your post....WE will be building your niner, no YOU

Come to think of it, does a skibob count as a Ride in Snow.

I think it's important we all agree that the MTN/PWC/Bryanston "bikepark" is in fact not a bikepark. It's a trail centre but it's not a bikepark.
If you go early enough there's snow on the deck at the top of Mosettes between Morzine and Champery. Should I give you my banking details?

What I was saying it's a silly entry, would karoo2coast then count? how about the CA2C
I know exactly what you mean, done lots of bike touring - in canada/alaska the rides to the sea normally had a ferry timetable to race against as well.
edit:will edit my original post into the ten list itself.

I think we can also agree that hekpoort to the shebeen via breedts nek doesn't count as crossing a mountain range.

By the time we go there the snow will be gone. Well at least I hope it will. If all goes to plan we'll ride in 3 countries.
France
Switzerland
Italy

It's HIGHLY overrated.
Have to disagree
Maybe if you thinking of riding in powdery snow on slopes that actually would need a snowboard, but as far as riding on single track covered in a few centimeters of snow and ice goes (with or without spikes) it can be a great deal of fun.
(9/10 for me)

I wish we had snow, so I could justify a fatbike "even more"
