Video: Danny MacAskill – The Ridge

By Nick · 59 comments

The Ridge is the brand new film from Danny MacAskill. For the first time in one of his films Danny climbs aboard a mountain bike and returns to his native home of the Isle of Skye in Scotland to take on a death-defying ride along the notorious Cuillin Ridgeline.

Novel way to get over a fence.

Wouldn't catch me doing half that crap

If you can do half of those things then I am still well impressed.

Respect! I'm too much of a wus to try anything remotely like that.

What SC is he riding? Nomad?

Every time I watch a Macaskill video I get really fired up to ride and improve my skills. Big time with this one. Rock climbing and MTB, it doesn't get better than that.

I must say that on the section where he is riding on the narrow ledge with the shear drop off to the left, his helmet is nothing more than a formality. No getting up after falling off there!

At least he is only human... but there can't be many who even have the audacity to try something like that in the first place!

Pah!.....done that, next time i will just try to open my eyes and hold on to the bike for the OTH to be a summersault rather than a not so elegant faceplant!

I find it more amazing then! He gets it quite wrong (this pic looks like it hurt a bit) and then gets up and does it again, as many times as it takes to get it right.

Skills, mixed with a large helping of bravery

Wow this is incredible. Every time I watch one of his videos I think; damn this is awesome, he cannot make a better video, then a few weeks/months later, he makes a better one.

Real talent and creativity.
