Thule’s latest gear will help get you over the finish line

Since the the Covid 19 lockdown started in March 2020, the latter part of 2021 has seen the resurgence of cycle races including the Cape Epic, Cape Town Cycle Tour, that saw 18 000 keen cyclists take to the road, as well as the upcoming Wines2Whales.

There really is no better feeling than getting back in the saddle and hitting the wide open road (or mountain, or trail) for essential time out, fresh air and of course some healthy competition.

Jamie Owen, marketing manager for Thule SA explains, “Thule has introduced a few key cycling essentials to help with every aspect of your race. Here are our team’s top picks to ensure you have a great ride.”

A bike carrier is an essential but buying a bike rack can be expensive so it’s really important to understand the various options that are available.  Most cyclists are looking for a bike carrier that will be the easiest and most convenient to use, while also keeping their bikes safe, secure and ready to ride when unloading at the destination.

As a world-leader in bike racks for cars, Thule knows what is important: high-quality, stylish bike racks for professional racers as well as weekend warriors. All Thule’s products are thoroughly tested to ensure that your bikes are safe and secure during transportation.

Roof mounted carriers come in a few different options, all of which need to be mounted to a set of roof racks. The most popular selling roof mounted carrier is the Thule ProRide 598 which secures the bikes wheels to the carrier and the arm secures to the bicycles frame to ensure that it stays upright and safe during transportation. You also get the latest Thule TopRide which is a fork mounted option that secures to the bikes quick-release or thru-axel. This carrier has a premium design which allows for quick and easy loading for almost any road bike, gravel bike or mountain bike.

A rear door mounted carrier is perfect for vehicles without a towbar. These carriers allow you to load your bikes at a convenient height. These trunk bike racks are secure, easy to install and great for relaxing bike trips or serious races.  The Thule OutWay is a hanging trunk bike rack that ensures quick and easy mounting to the car, thanks to simple user interface and the intuitive torque limiting tightening system. This carrier is available as a 2-bike or 3-bike hanging version as well as a 2-bike platform option.

For more information the Thule buyers guide will help you find the perfect bike rack option to suit your needs and car.

Every cyclist needs a bag for all their gear and the new Thule RoundTrip Bike Duffel 55L is a purpose-built bag solution for all dedicated cyclists. Keep all your cycling gear available and organised in this bike gear bag that holds 3-5 days of road bike or mountain bike gear, with infinite organisation to house wearables and accessories from one race and ride to the next.

The Thule Bike Protector is a must-have accessory that provides extra protection for bikes that are stacked close to each other.  This versatile accessory, available in black and grey, can be used in multiple situations such as transportation, parking or storage.  The rubber spacer separates possible contact points and prevents dents and scratches and bike to bike contact.

Thule is taking the piss man.

At least there are alternatives. Using one of these on the fork leg with great results. Robust strap and soft enough to not damage the paint of the frame is pushes against.
