According to Theodore De Klerk, CEO: SteinBuild, it is a privilege to be part of a unique race in the Western Cape. “The Western Cape is a key trading area of Pennypinchers. The lifestyle, experience and camaraderie of mountain biking events are closely aligned with our brand values. We’re also really excited to be involved from the Origin of the event, pun intended,” grins De Klerk.

“A high percentage of our customers enjoy mountain biking,” continues De Klerk. “After participating in the Pennypinchers Origin Of Trails we’d like riders to return home with special memories of the beauty of our great country and its people. The added value for all involved, from the riders to volunteers, will be the difference made to the community. No corporate can exist in isolation from the community where it trades. Pennypinchers acknowledges that without the community we would not have customers and we would not be able to build a future. The opportunity to visit places you would otherwise not have seen, keeping fit in the process and being able to share this with family and friends is what attracts people to the sport of mountain biking. Pennypinchers staff will definitely join our customers in taking part in the Pennypinchers Origin Of Trails. We have quite a few staff members that are active and up for the challenge”.

Maybe they will surprise us with some awesome clothing, otherwise I am also struggling to see the value.

The minute the word stage appears before the word race it somehow bumps the price up from an average of R120-R250 a day (1 day race) to a R900-R3000 a day.(stage race)
