Team Liqui-Fruit iCan, Warren Robertson and Jarryd Haley are well on their way in their quest to raise awareness and funds for Operation Smile South Africa. They were placed 38th overall out of over 600 teams in the Prologue of the 2013 Absa Cape Epic Mountain Bike stage race which was held at Meerendal Wine Estate in Durbanville on 17 March.
Team Liqui-Fruit iCan continues their success and determination by placing 84th in the first stage which took place today, 18th March in Citrusdal.
States rider Warren Robertson, “It was a tough day on the bike with us getting a puncture 15kms into the race. We struggled to fix it with bomb, sealant and tube and therefore sadly lost about 20min, but we will be back tomorrow to fight again.”
Liqui-Fruit is the official juice sponsor of the 2013 Absa Cape Epic where 600 teams have taken on a tough 800km over eight days from 17-24 March in the Western Cape.
Liqui-Fruit iCan is raising funds for Operation Smile South Africa with their participation in the Absa Cape Epic. Operation Smile funds corrective surgery for children born with cleft lips and cleft palates, helping to give these children their smiles back.
