PODIUM RANGE

We know that in order to be a podium finisher, you need the right balance between performance and comfort, that’s why we developed a range, which provides all the qualities to allow you to go for gold.

Tailored to the serious rider, the Podium range features high quality fabric, the latest technology and aerodynamic race fits for maximum performance.

By adding a premium bib and jersey to our current cycling range, it has allowed us to expand and elevate our cycling offering, providing kit for all levels of performance.

BIB OVERVIEW

The Podium Bib utilises a blend of high quality Micro/Nylon Lycra and a pro-level Italian Chamois, to provide exceptional comfort for long days in the saddle.

The combination of Italian Tech Power fabric and insets ensures all-day support and stability, providing the perfect racing position fit.

This bib offers great visibility in low light conditions with premium reflective trims, while the Nylon/Lycra features a UPF50+ for sun protection.

THE CHAMOIS

The three-dimensional Italian foam chamois offers superior comfort and flexibility. Developed using the latest technology and fabrication this chamois features:

  1. A 120kg/m3 high-density open cell foam padding for shock absorption and protection.
  2. A perforated inner foam layer for better breathability and improved elasticity.
  3. A 60kg/m3 top layer for body moulding.

A soft Italian fabric utilized on the top layer of the chamois provides exceptional next-to-skin comfort, with four-way stretch, moisture wicking and anti-microbial properties to offer superior comfort and protection.

LADIES SPECIFIC BIB

The Ladies Podium Bib offers full body support and comfort. An Italian Interpower mesh back panel features excellent wicking and breathability qualities, ensuring unrestricted evaporation and full range of movement for maximum comfort.

Designed specifically for females, this bib features a tailored female fit. A YKK waist zip allows for a smooth zip off process for when the bathroom calls.

The new First Ascent Podium Bib beautifully balances comfort, performance and style, making it class leader in performance cycle wear.

I personally think they should have just stuck to the entry level stuff, as cyclists (especially roadies) are so brand centric that I cant see anyone rocking up with a pair of R 2000 Sportsmans Warehouse First Ascent bibs when he's swinging his leg over a Specialized Venge. The guys want Italian stuff and if you are clever you can bring those brands in from overseas for the same price when they are on sale, even after duties etc, or just wait for local sales. I know locally there was a recent price war on Assos T.Mille S7's for R 2200 and for R 200 more it's a no brainer, even if these Podiums are technically better than the Assos, 9/10 people would pay the extra R 200 for the Assos.

d luck to them and I hope they succeed but I have my doubts.

I'd ride these. They're pretty good and the chamois is comfortable. I still prefer custom kit from Vye but the asking price for the Podium bib is justified but a tough sell for locals

Why only black? Every shop you go in to, black, black, black what`s wrong with a bit of colour, red, white, blue, make it a bit interesting who knows you may well shift more of them.

It's so hard to judge - My ASSOS T Cento S7's with a sticker price of over R5k (still have the box to prove) are now a little over a year old and the elastic at the bottom of the leg has given up and now resembles a frilly skirt!! no compression and they ride up my thighs. I only use these for road (and care for them correctly) and if I consider my other bibs which I mainly use for MTB, the use I've had and the use I'll still have - this bib was a complete and utter waste of hard earned cash. Anything decent at around R2k these days is a bargain, so I'm all for experimenting with honest gear at the right price .............. I certainly won't be looking at ASSOS again!

As long as white is not included in the colour range... That should never be allowed...

Yes I must admit, the Assos S5 range is probably the most durable range they produced, everything afterwards was made to be "replaceable". They also supplied chamois cream & Assos wash with the S5 range of bibs....now that's all "extras". See if you can find a good pair of Uno or Mille S5 bib shorts.

Received my set of Podium kit for testing. Looks like great quality material & construction, so let's see how it fits & goes during actual rides over the next weeks. #lekkerpodiumride #firstascent

I sent an email a week ago and I have not received a response thus far?

Got a set of the Podium bibs and Podium jersey.

Both excellent quality and nice race fit.

Bibs - the bib has a nice gripper and I didn't experience any riding of the legs. Chamois was solid and comparable to other top brands in the price range and above. Had to get a size small due to my waist size which meant that the straps are a little tight due to my height but nothing too serious. Would highly recommend these if you looking for a decent set of bibs. The price is fairly high but you get what you pay for in terms of kit.

Jersey - This is a solid race fit. 3 pockets on the back with a zip compartment. Found the side pockets a little tight but rather tight than too loose. The jersey has nice breathable side panels which made riding in 30 degree humidity bearable. Sleeves are a decent length and the plain colour is a nice addition to the wardrobe. Would be nice to see a black version too because BOBOB.

Look forward to the addition of more colourways to get my hands on.

Cheers First Ascent!

If this still shows up, any comment about how these bibs have performed after having them for a while?
