Contermanskloof to host first DHI Cup Series race of 2015

The popular Contermanskloof track in Durbanville, Western Cape, plays host to the opening round of the Stihl 2015 SA Mountain Bike Downhill (DHI) Cup Series in partnership with Western Province MTB Commission on Sunday 22 February.

The route follows the Contermanskloof main line, which covers a distance of 1.2km and has an elevation difference of 207m.

Online pre-entries are open, and close on Tuesday 17 February. Click here to enter: http://csams.cyclingsa.com/enter-an-event/mtb/2015—mtb—sa-cup-series-1-dhi.aspx. Late entries will be accepted at registration, with a nominal charge of R50 in addition to the entry fee.

Geez... Always wondered what the black route was like and wanted to try it... 

 

After that video I definitely need more experience and a squishier bike first!

Nah Ray, black route done and dusted on my old HT SS 29'er and fooked thumb ... all excluding the road gaps that is.

Correction: Round 2 of the WP DHI Series will not be taking place on Sat 22. Only Nationals on the Sunday.

 

As a result, the paragraph below has been removed from the article:

 

"A weekend of downhill racing is in store for the downhillers as the venue will also host round two of the Western Province DHI Series on Saturday 21 February, followed by the National Cup race on Sunday. This provides an extended practice for those looking to open their 2015 national ranking with top points."
