How it works

The Fantasy Tour is all about picking your very own Tour de France dream team. You can choose any riders from any team to make up the ultimate virtual team.

  • Pick your squad of 12 riders: 8 active riders and 4 substitutes.
  • Team submissions close once the Tour begins: at 11h10 SAST on Saturday, 7 July 2018.
  • Substitutes: On the two rest days during the race you’ll have the opportunity to substitute riders. You can drop the non-performers or bring in some fresh legs.
  • Once substituted, riders can be used again, however points are only allocated while a rider is active…. if they’re on the bench you don’t score points.

Pools

This year we have included a new a feature, public and private pools. Now you can square up against your friends, families, and colleagues. Get started by creating your own pools here.

I'm going the other way, started slowly and now I'm quickly working my way backwards. Bling was my man for today's stage and that idea is now in the can! Roll on the hills!

Looking good so far, but as its against my policy to pick a Sky rider i will probably go down the rankings from Tuesday. Hoping on Alaphilippe and Valverde today

Also Lost Bling , Was happy after returning on Tuesday after being off line from the 29th that the team I selected was ok, Did not have time to think rethink change etc, as I was off line, so the fact that I am only one rider down is ok at this stage, was worried I was starting with 6 or seven only.

Hoping to score better next week when the climbing starts.

Also my moto this year  :whistling:  LOL...only 3 or 4 seconds could have changed my current Fantasy standing   well at least I am enjoying the Racing every day...thinking about Sunday and who will be "scott-free" after those Cobbles

That cobble stage could shake up the GC standings and possibly determine the outcome of a few 2018 riders...let's see what happens...good luck to ALL

Tell us - did you select GvA with a plan (or hope) that the current situation would happen?

I thought, hoped BMC would take the TTT and he is the fastest finisher for day 1 and 2 in their team to then get yellow. Took 5 sprinters for obvious reasons, will drop 3 of them plus GvA on the rest day, if nothing goes wrong on Sunday. Greg will not have the jersey on Tuesday night. If Thomas goes into yellow i will be in trouble. My dark horse is Valverde

pretty much my planning too, I saw the TTT being a big factor in who would have yellow this week, and not the sprint stages.

Sky/BMC out and out favourites and QS/Mitchelton also in the mix.

Sky got no rouleours riding for glory, and don't really want to protect yellow this week

BMC got GVA, and don't mind yellow looking for sponsors

QS got loads of rouleurs, too many!

I looked at loading my team with QS riders, but then chose to put it all on GvA, so far so good.

I thought Sky would pip BMC in the TTT and that would put Thomas in yellow. But it literally came down to a few seconds. Fine margins in this game! Next week bodes well however, and the classic specialists will be a liability in week 2 and 3!

yup.

I think most of the guys in the top 50 are carrying a sprinter or two too many. but time will tell

Try being on page 5 . With all the ous who registered and didn’t pick any players . And when you got Sagan and Gaviria chillaxing on the bench .

I've sneaked into the top 10. and am just 80 points behind the leader...who is none other than the mighty @grootlem....

...who doesn't have froome in his team, so is basically toast come Alps.

my guess is that this comp will actually be decided by who steps up from the back of the faves bunch, nibbles, bardet, porte and Nq et al. the combination of those guys scor ing big will net one punter the kickr

There is nothing “mighty” about the old man Lemster, don’t let him intimidate you ????

I think most of the guys in the top50 right now doubled down on sprinters or TTT points. Once the mountains come, things might change. It could be a clever move though, if something happens to Froome or Porte, most of the rest might not be able to catchup....

High risk, high reward.... love it.

How we pick our riders says more about our personalities than a Myers Briggs assessment.
