The much-anticipated Fedgroup Cradle 100<\/a> is set to take place on 12-13 April 2025 at the Avianto Estate Clubhouse, offering mountain biking enthusiasts a chance to push their limits in the historic Cradle of Humankind. This exclusive event features a variety of race options, including a one-day race with distances of 10km, 25km and 45km, as well as a two-day stage race comprising a 45km ride on Day 1 and a 55km ride on Day 2. E-bikes are welcome, ensuring that all riders can join in the fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event is a race and the official launch of Fedgroup Trails, a massive network of purpose-built mountain bike trails spanning Avianto, Cradle Moon and Nirox. Participants will enjoy exclusive access to trails that are normally off-limits, providing a unique riding experience in a setting that blends modern trail design with the natural beauty of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrew Grobler, Fedgroup Cradle 100 Race Director explained that the Fedgroup Cradle 100 one-day race will celebrate the great trails network that Fedgroup has been developing around Avianto and the Cradle of Humankind. The network is coming together really nicely with new sections of trail mixed with some established trails in the area, all of which are purpose-built for mountain biking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added, “Unfortunately, there aren\u2019t that many one-day marathon races in the Joburg area these days. With almost two decades of experience in delivering high-value, safe mountain bike races, we plan to craft a mountain bike race to remember. Together with Fedgroup, we have planned a fun, festive day out and look forward to seeing the riders cross the finish line with smiles.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are excited to have the buy-in of the landowners in this area, including Farmhouse 58 and neighbours. What this land offers is quite a bit of elevation. While 45km may not sound formidable, do not underestimate it; be prepared for some challenging climbs on this stage.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“At Cradle Moon, we have great options and will ensure that Stage 2 provides participants with a good balance of challenges and rewards. With sections of the route being used in reverse, even regular Cradle Moon riders will find fresh perspectives and different challenges.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
