It may sound easy being a cycling coach, but this demanding position takes an immense amount of commitment.<\/p>\n
Cycling South Africa\u2019s Coaching Commission is extending their interactive and highly informative coaching courses to Gauteng, where they will be hosting a Level 1 Coaching Course from Friday 17th \u2013 Sunday 19th February 2012.<\/p>\n
Candidates of a Level 1 Cycling Coach Course will discover a training program for the coach whom wishes to assist club and provincial level cyclists to develop their fitness and hone their racing skills. To be part of this course, candidates need to have been an active Cycle Skill and Club Level Coach for six months, or have gained entry through our (RPL) system.<\/p>\n
This training program addresses basic level evaluation and planning, group organisation, management and communication, bike set up and maintenance, cycling skills and development, physical conditioning, sports psychology, sports nutrition, doping in sport, and special needs.<\/p>\n
The February 2012 Level 1 Coaching Course will be held at the PentaMedical Building, (next to Cycle Lab), Design Quarter, Corner William Nicol Drive & Leslie Road East, Fourways. Candidates must be 18 years of age or older. The costs are R2, 500 per candidate.<\/p>\n

All accredited cycling coaches are recognised as having met the standards under the Cycling SA-NCAS (National Coach Accreditation Scheme), which are recognised by SASCOC.<\/p>\n
