{"id":22007,"date":"2013-03-05T06:55:00","date_gmt":"2013-03-05T06:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bikehub.co.za\/news\/2013\/03\/05\/night-rider-mountain-bike-series-hits-jozi-on-15-march-r497\/"},"modified":"2023-02-08T12:33:10","modified_gmt":"2023-02-08T12:33:10","slug":"night-rider-mountain-bike-series-hits-jozi-on-15-march-r497","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bikehub.co.za\/news\/night-rider-mountain-bike-series-hits-jozi-on-15-march-r497\/","title":{"rendered":"Night Rider Mountain Bike Series hits Jozi on 15 March"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 15 March a Friday night in Jozi will change forever with the launch of the Jozi Night Rider Mountain Bike Series.<\/p>\n<p>Following in the footsteps of the successful Pretoria Night Rider Series at Rosemary Hill (<strong>remember to get your entries in for the next event in Pretoria on Thursday evening!<\/strong>), we have been planning this series for close to 12 months with endless hours of strategizing and chatting to people about what they would like to see happen at an event like this in Joburg.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last 4 months we have been working closely with the team from Heia Safari Ranch and various other role players to ensure that the Jozi Night Rider series offers cyclists an experience 2nd to none.<\/p>\n<p>We have cut, moulded and trimmed a variety of Single Track, Jeep Track, sand Roads and obstacles on the Heia Safari Ranch.<\/p>\n<p>Each meter is new and offers something for everyone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>There will be 3 distances on offer:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>3 Km Kiddies Event<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The kiddies ride is open and winds down to the famous Lake Heritage, passing through small forest sections and along the dam\u2019s edge.<\/p>\n<p>Interaction with Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest and other game is guaranteed. After a small climb back up to the entertainment area, the kiddies will be welcomed home with cheers into the start finish Boma.<\/p>\n<p><strong>10km Ride<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 10km Distance will be a showcase of what Heia Safari has to offer and the ideal event for the social and weekend rider.<\/p>\n<p>With a variety of Single track, Forest Track and Jeep Track ,this ride will give competitors a truly amazing experience.<\/p>\n<p>With only 2 short climbs and no difficult technical sections, it is bound to be a fun night out for the competitors.<\/p>\n<p>Attractions including game, river crossings, fast winding descents and jeep track along Lake Heritage.<\/p>\n<p>Riding at night along this route will take your senses to a new level and is guaranteed to leave you spellbound.<\/p>\n<p><strong>20km Race<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 20km route has been designed for the little more experienced competitor who is looking for a great route with a slight kick.<\/p>\n<p>With a combination of more than 8km of single-track, undulating routes and long winding descents through the game reserve \u2013 as well as a couple of technical hotspots &#8211; this track has a bit of everything.<\/p>\n<p>Crossing the dam wall and heading up and through the top part of the reserve will tickle all your senses and get the adrenalin pumping.<\/p>\n<p>We have made every effort to ensure there is something exciting to do for everyone.<\/p>\n<p>The start \/finish area is based in the Boma next to the main reception and restaurant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Some of the attractions include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Bonfires<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Secure Kiddies area (manned by experienced teachers where you can sign your child in and they will be looked after)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Playground, with jungle gyms, slides and a jumping castle<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Games Room with table tennis, foosball, pool table and other games for older kids<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 2 fully stocked bars<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 A sit down restaurant<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Open area restaurant with casual meals on offer<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Bathrooms and showers<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Big screens for those who want to keep up to date with the rugby \u2022 Swimming pool \u2022 Interaction areas with the tame game<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Zulu huts for those who would like to chill with friends<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 A 300 seater theatre<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 DJ and music on the night<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The new Concept to the Night Rider, a Park n Sell area where you can bring your Used Bikes and equipment to sell<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Tech Zone and shop for those last minute purchases<\/p>\n<p>Along the route the water points will be entertaining, to say the least, and reflective marking and marshals will guide you through the route.<\/p>\n<p>Our Sponsors Include Action Ford who will showcase the latest models from Ford and Mazda. Sports Lab will also be there with their latest nutritional Products.
