The route will take riders up some of the steepest climbs on Table Mountain to the Tafelberg Road and then includes some short but fun sections of singletrack on the way to the finish.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-53581700-1413983984.jpg\" data-fileid=\"433269\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"433269\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-53581700-1413983984.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-53581700-1413983984.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"text-2xl font-bold\">Stage 1: Oak Valley Estate to Oak Valley Estate<\/h2>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-76914800-1413983951.jpg\" data-fileid=\"433262\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"433262\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-76914800-1413983951.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-76914800-1413983951.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>113km &amp; 2 800m climbing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After 20kms of the opening stage riders will be confronted by the notorious Groenlandberg climb. There will be several more rocky and rutted climbs as the route winds back towards the Houwhoek Inn, under the N2 to the south side of the Grabouw district and back via the Lebanon and Thandi Wine Estate trails.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"text-2xl font-bold\">Stage 2: Oak Valley Estate to Oak Valley Estate<\/h2>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-90892600-1413983956.jpg\" data-fileid=\"433263\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"433263\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-90892600-1413983956.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-90892600-1413983956.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>92km &amp; 2 300m climbing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A few tough climbs and then lots of singletrack sections. These include trails above the Elgin Country Club and through the Oak Valley and Paul Cluver wine estates. Spectators will gather at the Paul Cluver amphitheatre, with its elevated ramps and suspension bridges.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"text-2xl font-bold\">Stage 3: Oak Valley Estate to Worcester<\/h2>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-42498900-1413983961.jpg\" data-fileid=\"433264\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"433264\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-42498900-1413983961.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-42498900-1413983961.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>128km &amp; 2 300m climbing <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The longest stage of the 2015 Absa Cape Epic takes riders to their new race village in Worcester. On the way they will climb over the eastern flank of the Groenlandberg and a few more tough climbs as they enter Karoo-like terrain. They will skirt the Brandvlei Dam into Worcester.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"text-2xl font-bold\">Stage 4: Worcester to Worcester<\/h2>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-70127000-1413983966.jpg\" data-fileid=\"433265\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"433265\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-70127000-1413983966.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-70127000-1413983966.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>111km &amp; 2 000m climbing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The route traverses some rough and rocky terrain around Worcester, cuts through the Fairy Glen private game reserve &#8211; home to Africa\u2019s big five wild animals &#8211; and includes three steep climbs, the Skyscrapers, towards the end.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"text-2xl font-bold\">Stage 5: Worcester to Wellington<\/h2>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-65962600-1413983971.jpg\" data-fileid=\"433266\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"433266\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-65962600-1413983971.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-65962600-1413983971.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>117km &amp; 2 500m climbing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The route to the new race village in Wellington has some tough climbs, including the Bain\u2019s Kloof Pass on tar and then the Full Monty in Welvanpas, which will test the legs on their sixth day of pedalling. The day finishes on a fun note through some of the excellent Welvanpas trails.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"text-2xl font-bold\">Stage 6: Wellington to Wellington<\/h2>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-81441200-1413983976.jpg\" data-fileid=\"433267\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"433267\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-81441200-1413983976.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-81441200-1413983976.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>71km &amp; 2 000m climbing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The shortest stage of the 2015 Absa Cape Epic and packed with more than 30km of singletrack. But don\u2019t be deceived: there are several short and intense climbs during the day &#8211; including one which has deservedly been called Forever.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"text-2xl font-bold\">Stage 7: Welington to Meerendal Wine Estate<\/h2>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-32313300-1413983981.jpg\" data-fileid=\"433268\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"433268\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-32313300-1413983981.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-32313300-1413983981.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>87km &amp; 1 500m climbing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After 25km of fast riding riders will be confronted by the Paardeberg, which gains 600m elevation in nearly six kilometres. This is the first time this tough and testing climb has been included in the Absa Cape Epic.
