The weekend of the 25-26 April promises to be another action-packed 2 days of mountain biking as the third round of the 2015 Stihl SA MTB Cup Series takes place at Mankele MTB Park in Mpumalanga. Entries for the XCO and DHI events are now open.<\/p>\n

Course designer and event organiser, Mark Meyer, said that there are very similar elements to last year\u2019s downhill and cross-country tracks, however, there have been some exciting new developments as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe cross-country course is very similar to last year\u2019s \u2013 we still have Geoff Bridges and Burry\u2019s Rock Garden. However, this year we have added \u201cSlippery Snake\u201d. This cuts down on the climb quite a bit. But still, it\u2019s rooty, it\u2019s rocky, it\u2019s a great course,\u201d said Meyer.<\/p>\n

The riders can expect boardkwalks, bush tunnels, bridges, river crossings, lung bursting climbs and, according to the Mankele MTB website: \u201cthe smoothest single track jam packed into 6.9km laps of Mountain biking Heaven\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe downhill course is\u2026 whoah! It\u2019s really looking good. This course is also similar to last year\u2019s, we\u2019ve just done a few fix-ups here and there and repaired blown-out sections. Its really quick and really crazy,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Berms and bridges, rock gardens and serious switchbacks await this year\u2019s riders on a course that has been described as \u201c1.8km of absolute adrenaline madness\u201d.<\/p>\n

Fifty metres from the bottom of the cross-country course, spectators are able to see some great XCO track sections. \u201cThere\u2019s also a coffee shop that\u2019s going to be selling all sorts of great things to eat and drink, so the spectators can come and support, relax and enjoy themselves,\u201d Meyer said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThree hundred metres from the bottom of the DHI course, the spectators will be able to view all the action and watch it all from below,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
