There are thousands of spectators at the Festival grounds enjoying a very festive day.”

Riders set off in misty conditions from 08:00 this morning when the gun was fired by Knysna Executive Mayor, Georlene Wolmarans, but the mist soon lifted and by the time the first riders from the 15 km race crossed the finish line, the sun was shining brightly.

Robyn de Groot and Matthys Beukes.

First over the line in the main event of the day, the 80 km MTB, was Matthys Beukes, who is believed to have set a new course record in a time of 2.52.12.
