Anthony Grote\/ Gameplan Media<\/span>\n<\/div>\n<p>2015 log leader and triple Quattro ROAG Series defending champ Andrew Hill (TIB Insurance), Team Thule\u2019s Tyronne White and Kargo Pro MTB Team\u2019s Brendon Davids are all set to take to this year\u2019s start line while murmurs of an appearance by Team RECM\u2019s James Reid as well as Darren Lill continue to do the rounds.<\/p>\n<p>While it is mathematically impossible for Davids to surpass Hill on the series log regardless of his efforts at Sunday\u2019s Hill2Hill and the upcoming Quattro Lake Eland Classic, the Kargo Pro MTB ace can still prove to be a thorn in the side of both Hill and White as the pair battle it out for this year\u2019s series spoils.<\/p>\n<p>Should Reid make the journey back to his former home province, the race at the front of the elite men\u2019s clash will be a mouth-watering affair with few brave enough to predict a probable podium.<\/p>\n<p>Like Reid, young Julian Jessop (Concept Cyclery powered by Burry Stander) and Alan Hatherly (Kargo Pro MTB) also competed at the recent UCI MTB World Championships in Andorra and should they too take to this year\u2019s Hill2Hill start line then the race for supremacy will be immense.<\/p>\n<p>While not in the running in the women\u2019s category of this year\u2019s Quattro ROAG Series, Mariske Strauss of the Western Cape is expected to take on this year\u2019s Hill2Hill challenge and promises to be tough to beat over the 100km course from Hilton to Hillcrest.<\/p>\n<p>Quattro ROAG Series title contender Jeannie Dreyer will however also be in attendance this weekend and will undoubtedly be planning a continuance of her unbeaten run thus far in this year\u2019s series.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-54786200-1441899637.jpg\" data-fileid=\"596225\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"596225\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-54786200-1441899637.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-54786200-1441899637.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><span class=\"italic text-sm text-slate-500 block mt-1 mb-4\">USN\/Hi-Tec&#8217;s Jeannie Dreyer will hope another solid finish in the 2015 Sunday Tribune Jeep Hill2Hill on Sunday will catapulted he to top spot on the women&#8217;s standings of the 2015 Quattro ROAG Series. Anthony Grote\/ Gameplan Media<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dreyer, who recently broke the women\u2019s record at the 900km Colorado Trail Race in the USA, has notched up victories at the 60km Sappi Karkloof Marathon, Husqvarna Classic Mid-Illovo MTB Challenge, Safire Baynesfield MTB Classic and aQuell\u00e9 Tour de Krantz.<\/p>\n<p>Her subsequent 400 points however still don\u2019t see her topping the women\u2019s standings, a position still held by the injured Natalie Bergstrom (Jowetts Cycles).<\/p>\n<p>A solid performance at Sunday\u2019s event will however hand Dreyer the advantage ahead of the series finale at Lake Eland in mid-October.<\/p>\n<p>With 2015 seeing the Sunday Tribune Jeep Hill2Hill celebrate its 10th anniversary, legendary course designer Nick Floros \u2013 the guru behind the cross country layout of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil \u2013 has once again worked his magic throughout the course, even throwing a couple of fresh surprises into this year\u2019s mix.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday\u2019s 100km Marathon is also preceded by Saturday\u2019s 45km Half Marathon as the weekend promises to be a full programme of mountain bike action from KZN\u2019s Midlands down to the Upper Highway region.<\/p>\n<p>The 2015 Quattro ROAG Series is a nine leg series that sees all of KZN\u2019s top mountain bikers doing battle for the coveted title and the winner\u2019s cheque of R22 000 for both the male and female overall winners.
