<\/a>The third annual Pennypinchers Origin Of Trails returns to Stellenbosch this coming Friday, 27 and Saturday, 28 November 2015. Photo Credit: Cherie Vale \/ NEWSPORT MEDIA.<\/span><\/p>\nA two-day stage mountain bike (MTB) event, entrants will be granted the \u201conce a year\u201d opportunity to experience a spectacular combination of single-track that are normally inaccessible to the mountain biking community.<\/p>\n
According to elite mountain biker Waylon Woolcock, the Pennypinchers Origin Of Trails has a pleasant and welcomed approach to mountain biking. \u201cInstead of racing, event organizers encourage entrants to enjoy the route and vibe. After a stressful year, it\u2019s great to have the opportunity to relax and enjoy riding my bike. With the event starting in the streets of Stellenbosch, I get to roll out of my bed onto the start line. I don\u2019t even have to worry too much about breakfast as I know that I can stop off at the fantastic water points. I am looking forward to riding great trails with my mates.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cStellenbosch is a mecca for mountain biking,\u201d says Jo Dobinson, ISUZU MTB Academy Coach. \u201cI am super excited to get the opportunity to ride the spectacular new trails in Jonkershoek. We are grateful to all the landowners that have given the event access to their exquisite farms, indirectly giving us the unique opportunity to enjoy trails that are usually inaccessible to riders. With event organizers encouraging riders not to race, fun riders will be granted the unique opportunity to ride with the likes of Ariane Kleinhans, James Reid, Erik Kleinhans and Waylon Woolcock, to name just a few.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dobinson will toe the line at the Pennypinchers Origin Of Trails alongside four riders from the ISUZU MTB Academy.<\/p>\n
Other top riders to look out for at Stellenbosch\u2019s MTB party of the year will include: Stefan Sahm, Karl Platt, Candice Neethling, Darren Lill and Adriaan Louw.<\/p>\n

Long Course: +-60km \/ Elevation 1750m and single track length 23.4km
Short Course: +- 31km \/ Elevation 850m
Start Time: 07:00 in seeded batch starts, starting with 60km race
Start Venue: Hofmeyer Hall, Church Street, Stellenbosch
Finish Venue: Blaauwklippen, Stellenbosch<\/p>\n
Stage Two: Saturday, 28 November 2015 <\/h2>\n
Long Course: +-65km \/ Elevation 1700m and single track 17.1km
Short Course: +- 34km \/ Elevation 1000m
Start Time: 07:00 in seeded batch starts, starting with 65km race
Start Venue: Hofmeyer Hall, Church Street, Stellenbosch
Finish Venue: Blaauwklippen Wine Estate, Stellenbosch<\/p>\n
Entry Fees:<\/strong><\/p>\n Option 1: Long (60km and 65km) R1050.00 Entrants will receive the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n After a fun day out on route, mountain bikers can look forward to either relaxing in the Windhoek Light Bar Area or the ISUZU Chill Zone.<\/p>\n Win a Specialized Bicycle: One lucky Pennypinchers Origin Of Trails entrant will go home with a 2016 Specialized 6 Fattie (Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Comp 6 Fattie for men or a Specialized Rhyme FSR Comp 6 Fattie for women). The winner will have to be present during prize giving on the Saturday to claim his\/her prize.<\/p>\n The Pennypinchers Origin Of Trails supports the Aitsa Aftercare Centre. Each rider will receive homemade placemats and a handcrafted gift compliments of the Aitsa Aftercare Centre. The children will also show their support on route by singing, blowing vuvuzelas and serving locally made koeksisters and\/or vetkoek at the water point in Kylemore.<\/p>\n Live entertainment will set the mood at the finishing venue.
