By Absa Cape Epic standards it is short \u2013 only 75km \u2013 but has some sharp climbs and an accumulated altitude gain of 1850m.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align:center;\"><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-95586600-1458187308.jpg\" data-fileid=\"697044\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"697044\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-95586600-1458187308.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-95586600-1458187308.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/div>\n<p>The distance and conditions suggest it will be a day for the cross country specialists, so expect the likes of Manuel Fumic and Henrique Avancini (Cannondale Factory Racing) or Martin Gluth and Sascha Weber (Novus OMX Pro) to have a good day. Sport for Good\u2019s Sabine Spitz and Yana Belomoina should also find the route to their liking and might fancy a crack at a Women\u2019s category stage win.<\/p>\n<p>Not long after the start the legs will be tested on the Patatskloof climb, then it\u2019s down Cool Runnings Too, up the Aap d\u2019Huez (with a mere 29 switchbacks) and down Route 66. The loop also includes Welvanpas\u2019s White Route, filled with interesting singletrack and one notoriously bumpy section called the Cheesegrater.
