{"id":18236,"date":"2016-05-03T11:55:00","date_gmt":"2016-05-03T10:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bikehub.co.za\/news\/2016\/05\/03\/rmb-change-a-life-zulus-embrace-rounded-kap-sani2c-experience-r4702\/"},"modified":"2023-02-08T08:19:21","modified_gmt":"2023-02-08T08:19:21","slug":"rmb-change-a-life-zulus-embrace-rounded-kap-sani2c-experience-r4702","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bikehub.co.za\/news\/rmb-change-a-life-zulus-embrace-rounded-kap-sani2c-experience-r4702\/","title":{"rendered":"RMB Change a Life Zulus embrace rounded KAP sani2c experience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2016 KAP sani2c\u2019s Race event, which takes place from Glencairn Farm near Himeville down to Scottburgh on KwaZulu-Natal\u2019s South Coast from 12-14 May, will see no fewer than four of Martin Dreyer\u2019s RMB Change a Life MTB Academy two-rider teams in action as they look to race to success while learning along the way as well.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-82197500-1462276582.jpg\" data-fileid=\"720797\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"720797\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-82197500-1462276582.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-82197500-1462276582.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><span class=\"italic text-sm text-slate-500 block mt-1 mb-4\">Ndumiso Dontso (front) and Sipho Kupiso (back) flew the flag high for Martin Dreyer&#8217;s RMB Change a Life MTB Academy in 2015 and they, together with their three other CAL teams, aim to do the same again come the Race event of this year&#8217;s KAP sani2c from Underberg to Scottburgh between 12-14 May. Anthony Grote\/ Gameplan Media<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Having proven their remarkable endurance and ability to take on some of the country\u2019s finest marathon and stage racers in recent years, Sthembiso Masango and Mazwi Smimango, Sipho Kupiso and Ndumiso Dontso, Bongumusa Zikhali and Scelo Mhlongo as well as Siyanda Masango and Dumisani Shabalala will look to rub shoulders with this year\u2019s talented sani2c men\u2019s field.<\/p>\n<p>\u201csani2c is just such an awesome event to be part of,\u201d explained Dreyer. \u201cThe route takes riders on a wonderful journey from the mountains to the sea.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDay Two must be one of the most spectacular stages of all mountain bike events in South Africa and it great for my guys to get out of the Valley of a Thousand Hills and tackle trails from a different part of the province.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore than the route and the racing though, sani2c is about the experience \u2013 especially for my RMB Change a Life Zulus,\u201d he added holistically.<\/p>\n<div style=\"\">\n<a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-15039400-1462276583.jpg\" data-fileid=\"720798\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"720798\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-15039400-1462276583.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-15039400-1462276583.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><span class=\"italic text-sm text-slate-500 block mt-1 mb-4\">Sipho Kupiso (front) and Ndumiso Dontso (back), together with the rest of their Martin Dreyer&#8217;s RMB Change a Life MTB Academy team mates, will learn many lessons both in and out of the saddle come the Race event of the 2016 KAP sani2c from Underberg to Scottburgh between 12-14 May. Anthony Grote\/ Gameplan Media<\/span>\n<\/div>\n<p>While striving to fly the RMB Change a Life flag high during their three days of racing, Dreyer wants his charges to leave the event with far more than just the racing lessons they learn while in the saddle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing able to give our guys the opportunity to ride alongside CEOs of huge companies and major characters of South Africa; overnighting with these people opens our guys\u2019 eyes and gives them such incredible confidence to work towards their goals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnce you\u2019re is out there, on your bike and enjoying the trails, everyone is equal and our Change a Life Zulus just gain so much from that experience,\u201d explained Dreyer.<\/p>\n<p>Missing from this year\u2019s RMB Change a Life contingent though are John Ntuli \u2013 who recently joined Merchants, a Dimension Data company \u2013 and Mboneni, who his currently studying Agricultural Management and Environmental Science through UNISA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJohn (Ntuli) has been given a wonderful opportunity this year and while he is obviously very much a part of our RMB Change a Life MTB family still, we\u2019re very excited about the potential his new situation with Merchants brings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMboneni (Ngcobo)\u2019s exams do mean he cannot ride sani2c this year with his usual partner, Sthembiso Masango, however it is just great to see him utilising the full support that our Change a Life programme offers and we are thrilled to see him pursuing his studies so diligently.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJohn and Mboneni\u2019s absence also open up an opportunity for some of our youngsters who otherwise probably would have missed out, and we\u2019re really looking forward to giving these guys such an incredible opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Trail, Adventure and Race events of the 2016 KAP sani2c take place from Glencairn in Underberg to Scottburgh on KZN&#8217;s South Coast from 10-12, 11-13 and 12-14 May respectively.
