Entries are open and close at midnight on Tuesday 10 May. Photo: Supplied<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The upgraded course has 4.2-kilometre laps and an elevation of 170 metres. Joubert also mentioned that the course is very different to the other XCO National Cup tracks. \u201cIn the Baakens Valley, there is plenty of beautiful vegetation surrounding the trails, and not too much dust,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt won\u2019t be as technically challenging as the 2015 PE XCO track, however it will still be technical. There is a lot of climbing involved though, and this will definitely require a lot of powering down and a lot of strength. Photo: Supplied<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The track is located less than two kilometres from the Port Elizabeth Airport, St Georges Park and Cricket grounds are within walking distance. Port Elizabeth\u2019s main beach, Kings Beach, and the harbour are less than two kilometres from the track. \u201cIt\u2019s an extremely spectator-friendly course, with view points on either side of the valley,\u201d added Joubert.<\/p>\n<p>The fourth round of the Stihl 2016 SA XCO Cup Series, takes place at Settler\u2019s Park, Port Elizabeth, on Saturday 14 May. Although the UCI Category 1 rating applies to Pro-Elites only, the Juniors will be able to earn series points, as well as UCI points for their own UCI Junior World Series at some of the Cup Series events.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-39330100-1462525737.jpg\" data-fileid=\"722484\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"722484\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-39330100-1462525737.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-39330100-1462525737.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Online pre-entries for the fourth round of the Stihl 2016 SA XCO Cup Series in Port Elizabeth are open, and close on Tuesday 10 May 2016 at midnight.
