He was followed across the line by Hein Engelbrecht (Valencia) five minutes later, with Arno du Toit (SCOTT LCB Factory Racing) rounding out the podium.<\/p>\n<p>In the women\u2019s race, McDougall\u2019s (Valencia) winning time of 2:49:31 was six minutes faster than that of runner-up, Theresa Ralph (Galileo Risk). Photo Credit: ZC Marketing Consulting<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Exceptional organisation, good weather and the truly African wildlife venue, made the opening round of the Gauteng Nissan TrailSeeker Series a memorable one.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 2700 participants across four distances enjoyed the opportunity to ride through the wild bushveld at the base of the Waterberg mountain range. With the entire event taking place within the Mabalingwe Game Reserve, there was an additional air of excitement.<\/p>\n<p>A number of riders saw wide range of the game in the reserve. Markings were excellent and you had well briefed marshals at all points. The venue was lovely too,\u201d wrote participant, Frans Verwoerd, on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYesterday\u2019s race was one of the best mountain bike races I have done. I will definitely be back next year.
