{"id":17961,"date":"2016-06-27T11:55:00","date_gmt":"2016-06-27T10:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bikehub.co.za\/news\/2016\/06\/27\/anriette-schoeman-set-to-defend-jbay-wind-farm-mtb-classic-title-r5040\/"},"modified":"2023-02-08T08:00:48","modified_gmt":"2023-02-08T08:00:48","slug":"anriette-schoeman-set-to-defend-jbay-wind-farm-mtb-classic-title-r5040","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bikehub.co.za\/news\/anriette-schoeman-set-to-defend-jbay-wind-farm-mtb-classic-title-r5040\/","title":{"rendered":"Anri\u00ebtte Schoeman set to defend JBay Wind Farm MTB Classic title"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Multiple Cape Town Cycle Tour and Momentum Weekend Argus Knysna Rotary Cycle Tour champion Anri\u00ebtte Schoeman will be on the start line at the JBay Wind Farm MTB Classic on 16 July to defend her title. \u201cI keep on coming back to this race because I absolutely love the festive vibe and the fantastic route layout,\u201d commented the Port Elizabeth rider. \u201cThe prize purse is really good \u2013 having been increased to R10 000 first prize for both men and women \u2013 but the route is honestly one of the most fun days you can have locally in and around PE,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-82051900-1467028579.jpg\" data-fileid=\"751862\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"751862\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-82051900-1467028579.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-82051900-1467028579.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Schoeman described the route as \u201ca mix of singletrack, gravel roads, some proper climbs and loads of scenery; as an added bonus we ride through the wind farm which makes for a remarkable experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Schoeman traversing the Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm \u2013 as all three routes on offer, the a 25km fun ride; 50km half-marathon and 85km ultra \u2013 do, is a highlight. \u201cFor me the best part of the race is where we ride through the Wind Farm,\u201d Schoeman said. \u201cRiding literally underneath the spectacular, gigantic wind turbines is something very special.
