The three divisions include general public, alumni and students. Riders will be required to enter into teams of two while nominating their university of choice. Each individual rider’s performance counts towards his or her university’s overall standing. The university with the most points wins the Varsity MTB Challenge.

“There is a lot more than just the thrill of watching riders going at each other over 100km for two days,” says Trent Key of Advent Sport Entertainment and Media (ASEM), organisers of Varsity MTB Challenge. “While riders battle it out for their alma mater, supporters will be entertained at the university-styled race village. Get ready for an intervarsity-style atmosphere and to reconnect with old friends and rivals. We’re preparing a beer garden, live entertainment, varsity cheerleaders and a couple of surprises which will certainly take everyone back to their varsity days.”

Entries are now open for the first Varsity MTB Challenge.
