<\/a>The organizers of the FNB Wines2Whales (W2W) Mountain Bike (MTB) Events are excited to announce that the prize purse for the 2016 FNB W2W MTB Race has increased to an impressive R407 500.00. Photo Credit: Tobias Ginsberg.<\/span><\/p>\nAccording to Swiss mountain bike legend, Christoph Sauser, prize money is crucial in supporting the career of a professional mountain biker. \u201cIt is great to see that the FNB W2W MTB Events are honoring the pros. I am certain that they won\u2019t be disappointed in getting awesome racing in return. I love the FNB W2W MTB format: three days of mountain biking, it\u2019s challenging, but not too challenging, features super nice trails, is absolutely perfectly organized, it supports my charity songo.info and has an awesome atmosphere. It\u2019s simply the perfect, well rounded race.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cLast year the FNB W2W MTB Event Organizers increased the prize purse for the women\u2019s teams. This was an incredible move to provide equity within the sport,\u201d says current National Marathon Champion Robyn De Groot. \u201cThis year they continue to make waves by increasing the prize purse for professional racing teams. As a professional athlete, a healthy prize purse is something that we always appreciate and are extremely grateful for. We work hard to be in top form for events and it is always rewarding when our efforts get noticed by race organizers.\u201d <\/p>\n
