Anthony Grote\/ Gameplan Media<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The win comes as a maiden stage race success for Kokstad\u2019s Zellhuber and Bloemfontein\u2019s Fourie both individually and as a combination \u2013 a partnership the Fedauto duo hope will continue to blossom after such a positive beginning this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really happy that Marc and I managed to take the win here!\u201d said 19 year-old Zellhuber. \u201cWe had to work together as a team quite a bit, keep motivating each and making sure that we didn\u2019t look to push too hard, especially at the beginning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReinhard and I are both super competitive and usually try to kill each other out there when we\u2019re racing against each other so it was a pleasure to ride with him and not against him for once,\u201d added 18 year-old Fourie.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-40934500-1475415434.jpg\" data-fileid=\"811979\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"811979\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-40934500-1475415434.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-40934500-1475415434.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><span class=\"italic text-sm text-slate-500 block mt-1 mb-4\">Fedauto&#8217;s Reinhard Zellhuber (front) and Marc Fourie (back) and the rest of the 2016 Fedauto Sani Dragon in association with Mortimer Toyota participants were treated to idyllic conditions during the Sani Pass climb. Anthony Grote\/ Gameplan Media<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHopefully this is the beginning of something big for us and I think we\u2019ll look to race together more in the future for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Having started day two with a handy two minute lead over their nearest rivals \u2013 Dream Team\u2019s Hendrik Bester and Brennan Anderson \u2013 the previously untested Fedauto combination dug deep to overcome the testing second day\u2019s route and keep their fellow title hopefuls at bay.<\/p>\n<p>The event\u2019s main attraction \u2013 the climb up to the finish line at the top of Sani Pass \u2013 presented the Fedauto pair with one of the tallest challenges of their fledgling careers however the youngsters charged on bravely to claim victory overall while Zellhuber clinched the King of the Mountains award as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe climb was pretty tough but the view from the top of Sani Pass is absolutely insane,\u201d said Zellhuber.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was definitely one of my hardest days on a bicycle ever,\u201d agreed Fourie. \u201cThe stage is only 32km long but it really is brutal!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOverall though, the area is just so beautiful and the Sani Dragon is one of the most beautiful events that I\u2019ve ever done.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe trails we rode on during the first stage were amazing and then the view from the top of Sani Pass is incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-88671300-1475415417.jpg\" data-fileid=\"811977\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"811977\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-88671300-1475415417.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-88671300-1475415417.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><span class=\"italic text-sm text-slate-500 block mt-1 mb-4\">Dream Team&#8217;s Brennan Anderson (left) and Hendrik Bester (right) from Amanzimtoti finished second overall after Saturday&#8217;s second stage of the 2016 Fedauto Sani Dragon in association with Mortimer Toyota while HB Trading&#8217;s Grant Lavers (centre) claimed the Sani Dragon solo men&#8217;s title. Anthony Grote\/ Gameplan Media<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Amanzimtoti\u2019s Bester and Anderson gave it their all to as they attacked from the outset and opened a small gap on the overnight leaders early on.<\/p>\n<p>They were however unable to match the exuberance of youth in the end though and having been reeled in shortly after reaching the dirt road at the start of the Sani Pass climb, ultimately had to settle for second place.<\/p>\n<p>After two solid days of racing, Mielie &amp; Wood\u2019s Carel le Roux and Grant Underwood claimed the bottom step on the podium while Mortimer Toyota\u2019s Chris van der Linde and Rowan Bernstein and In It To Finish It\u2019s Ian Sayer and Andrew Glover finished fourth and fifth respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Drop off Daisies\u2019 Sarah Matcher and Rialette Kruger were unrivalled at the front of the women\u2019s race while Cleats and Cleavage\u2019s Retha and Gertjie Harmse the mixed category\u2019s overall honours.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-91953000-1475415427.jpg\" data-fileid=\"811978\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"811978\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-91953000-1475415427.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-91953000-1475415427.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><span class=\"italic text-sm text-slate-500 block mt-1 mb-4\">The testing final switchback section up Sani Pass had many 2016 Fedauto Sani Dragon in association with Mortimer Toyota participants digging deep as the charged to the top.
