Each route, specially designed by Dirtopia’s trail building expert, Meurant Botha, will feature some of the most scenic wine farms in the Greater Simonsberg Conservancy.

Saturday (4 March) will be all about family and fun, as riders tackle the 14km, 20km and 30km trails. These three routes are shorter and perfect for those still honing their MTB skills, or those looking for an enjoyable ride with family and friends. While the routes may be shorter, they will still offer a fair level of challenge. From sheltered forest sections to open vineyards, the shorter routes will feature a great mix of scenery.

The Sunday (5 March) promises to be a cracker for the racing snakes and serious enthusiasts’, tackling one of the longer and tougher routes – the 40km or 55km routes. According to defending 2016 champ, James Reid (Team Spur), the route is exactly what you’d expect from this iconic event. “There is just so much single track – at least 60% is usually on-the-edge, dusty and loose! So much fun – that is what this race is famous for,” he said.

Online entries opened on Wednesday, 26 October 2016 at 1pm.

To enter please visit our website – http://www.capetowncycletour.com/cape-town-mtb-challenge/

Keep informed of developments of the Cape Town Cycle Tour MTB Challenge by liking their Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/cycletour or by following them on Twitter: @TheMTBChallenge.
